The aftermath of Week 2 in the NFL.

Shockingly, the Seattle Seahawks lost another wide receiver to injury, as Logan Payne tore a ligament in his knee and will miss the remainder of the year.

Packers QB Aaron Rodgers is finally earning some respect after his performances so far this season. Maybe one day, fans in Green Bay will apologize to him for their embarrassing and classless harassment of him during the preseason.

The San Diego Chargers were completely screwed by referee Ed Hochuli in their loss to Denver, and they're pissed, as they should be.

After another uninspiring loss, where does Cincinnati go from here?

Should the Vikings stick with quarterback Tarvaris Jackson?

Ripping the sorry, no-account, pathetic, embarrassment of a "football team" that is the St. Louis Rams.

So most of you might have heard there is this football game on Saturday between USC and Ohio State. Frankly, we think most people will still be locked into the Alabama A&M at Louisiana-Monroe contest, but it still might do well in the ratings.

The problem is, most people aren't that sure it will be a close game. We all know the history of Ohio State in recent big games, but there's no need to delve into that. The problem for them won't be that history - it will be USC's defense. Does anybody really think a less than 100 percent Beanie Wells will be able to get by Brian Cushing, Rey Maualuga, Taylor Mays and Co.? Didn't think so. While nobody should look past the Buckeyes D, USC has too many weapons not to put up some points.

Let's face it, OSU struggled to beat Ohio by a score of 26-14. And the game wasn't a case of the Buckeyes taking an early three touchdown lead and backing off a bit. OSU was actually losing the game at the end of the third quarter, 14-12. If their offense can't put up points against the Ohio Bobcats, how will it score enough against the Trojans, who will undoubtedly put points on the board? It just doesn't look like a good matchup for the Buckeyes, which is why we'll call it: USC 31, Ohio State 17.

Another week of NFL football means another week of fantasy football. Let's go over our Week 2 fantasy freaks - guys who should be locks to give you big-time points.

QB - Eli Manning, New York Giants: The Giants play the St. Louis Rams on Sunday. You did see what Donovan McNabb did to the Rams without his top two receivers during Week 1, did you not? Is any further explanation really necessary?

RB - Adrian Peterson, Minnesota Vikings: Not only is AP one of the top backs in the league, but the Vikes go up against the Colts, who let rookie Matt Forte run all over them last week. Also, Indianapolis released one of their starting defensive tackles, Ed Johnson, because he liked to spark blunts. Combine these factors and you have a really great match-up for Peterson.

WR - Santonio Holmes, Pittsburgh Steelers: Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger did a lot of handing off Week 1, but against the Browns and their below average pass defense, you have to think the team will let Big Ben fire away. And Holmes has the deep speed and explosiveness to possibly have a huge day. Not to mention the fact that he had just two catches for 19 yards last week, and he'll want to make up for that.

TE - Jeremy Shockey, New Orleans Saints: With Marques Colston out, Shockey becomes a more integral part of the team's offense. He will be targeted more, especially in the end zone. That's certainly good news for fantasy owners looking to get those six points.

As some of you may have deciphered, EZB is a fan of the St. Louis Rams. As some of you also probably know, they were destroyed by the Eagles, 38-3. And really, it wasn't quite that close.

The Rams were an awful team last year, going 3-13. And no one realistically thought they would beat the Eagles. But no one thought they would be humiliated, either. It is difficult to put into perspective what this type of Week 1 performance does to a fan, much less a team. We spent lots of trying to come up with a clever adjective or phrase that would do it justice. But fancy verbiage does not apply in this case. Only one word really does: hopelessness.

All the excitement of a fresh season and new beginning? Gone. The chance for redemption from the worst season since the franchise came to St. Louis? Erased in four quarters. The good feelings about the team vanished, and the reality that this team is just as pathetic as last season (if not more so) is hard to grasp. And having to face that reality in Week 1 is equally troubling. Lions fans are known for their pessimism, and it is hard to blame them. But when their team quickly fell behind the Falcons 21-0 on Sunday, they fought back and gave an effort. So they can at least spin it positively, should they choose to. But no one who roots for the Rams can do the same thing.

Surely, fans of other franchises among all sports know the feeling. But knowing that the next 16 weeks are an exercise in futility is a punch in the gut. And just because other people have felt it does not make it easier. Oh well. There's always next year.

EZB is back for another year of fantasy freaks, giving you the best angles to play on your fantasy squad, and the players we think will have the biggest games.

RB Brian Westbrook, Eagles: Westbrook has made himself an elite offensive threat. He can hurt you in more ways than almost any other NFL player, and against the St. Louis Rams defense, he should have an enormous day. The Eagles will be without WR Kevin Curtis, and maybe WR Reggie Brown, leaving Westbrook as the guy Philly should utilize not only on screens, but running routes on passing downs. The Rams were 21st against the pass and 20th against the run, so they are not adept at stopping either. Their linebackers have good speed, but if the Eagles can get to the second level, their offensive lineman should be able to engulf them. It's possible Westbrook has 100 rushing, 100 receiving yards on Sunday.

QB Tony Romo, Cowboys: Dallas takes on the Cleveland Browns, and to say their pass defense lacks play makers is an understatement. Cleveland was 25th against the pass last season, and though adding big bodies up front like Shaun Rogers should help, they still must have good coverage by their corners. Another thing that may hurt them is their CB's relative lack of size. One thing the Cowboys have is tall receivers. Patrick Crayton is the shortest at 6-0. The Browns starters at CB are Eric Wright and Brandon McDonald, each of whom is 5-10. Behind them on the depth chart is 5-9 Terry Cousin. Everything about this match-up says that Romo can do serious damage.

WR Reggie Wayne: The Bears defense was horrid last season, though most people are choosing to ignore that in 2008. True, there were injuries, but the fall they took was striking, and it remains to be seen whether they can get it back. And so the Colts and Reggie Wayne face off against a pass defense that was 27th last year in the NFL, and didn't seem to improve personnel-wise in the offseason. In fact, they released Ricky Manning Jr. - though he did not play well last season, he does have a solid reputation - and were still deciding who their nickel cornerback was going to be. Wayne and Peyton Manning practice against a defense that runs a Cover 2 similar to the Bears everyday, so their familiarity with it should be a plus. Expect the two to hook up early and often.
